Nawal and Sila Madi

Nawal Madi was four years old, and Sila Madi was a year and a half. Their father, Ahmad, was so devoted to them that he described them as a trust he had left with their mother. Nawal's grandmother was deeply attached to her and wouldn't let her travel to join her father in Sweden. On her last night, Nawal slept on her grandmother's chest, as if she were saying goodbye. Nawal dreamed of going to Sweden, of playing in the snow with her sister. They were killed along with their mother on October 9, 2023, after their house was suddenly bombed.
