Ziad Mahmoud Saydam

"I tried so hard to protect you all, but all my attempts failed. I fled with you from place to place, I took you to Rafah for two months, I hid you here and there, all to no avail. Even when we were bombed, I carried you and rushed you to the hospital, but I didn't make it in time. You were dying in my arms in the car, and I couldn't do anything for you. Tell God, my son, how scared you were and how you would run away when the bombing started. Tell God everything, for now you are able to say everything. I love you, Ziad, but you were in too much of a hurry, my love." Ziad was killed in a bombing that targeted his family on July 24, 2024, soaring to become a bird of paradise, where there is no bombing, no hunger, and no fear.
