Jana Ala'a Bakeer

Jana was displaced, living on al-Wahda Street after the occupation destroyed her family's home near the al-Sina'a industrial area. On August 1st, she would have turned 15. She was studying at a center to make up for the two years of school she had missed during the war. Jana's dream was to become a dentist. She was very social and had many friends, all of whom loved her. She loved swimming and was excited to start her final year of high school, make her family proud, and enter the field of her dreams. She was killed at the door of her house, on her way to quench her thirst and buy juice. She was killed alone, without any of her family members. She was bombed next to a horse cart. She was carrying money to pay people. She was waiting for the war to end so she could travel, finish her studies, and realize her dream.
