Anas Zain Abdel-Karim al-Fayoumi
Age 16 · 9 June 2025
His kind heart always prevailed. At a young age, he shouldered the responsibility for his family. In the prime of his life, only 16 years old, he went out into the world in Gaza, striving to earn an honorable living to provide for his mother and siblings. In one hand, he carried bread and dignity; in the other, he carried a dream. But, as is its treacherous way, the occupation killed Anas in a bombing while he was on his way to earn his daily bread. He was killed while striving, not fighting or hurting anyone, only searching for a dignified life in a homeland from which hope has been stolen. His body ascended, but his spirit remains, whispering to us: "Dignity does not die, even if the body dies."
