Amani Mus'ab al-Raqb

Amani Mus'ab al-Raqb

Age 16 · 13 October 2023

She was a young rose who loved life. She wore her graduation gown and recited poetry expressing the injustice faced by the Palestinian people. She wore a white coat, as she dreamed of becoming a doctor. She had memorized the Holy Quran, the forty hadiths of the Prophet, and more, and she was devoted to her prayers, as all who knew her can attest. She was an angel on earth. The occupation killed her in a treacherous bombing on October 13th while she was asleep, immersed in her dreams. And with her, all hopes were killed. For she was Amani (which means 'hopes'), and what is life without hopes? In a video she had previously published, she said: "Save Palestinian childhood, do not let the smile disappear from our lips, and do not let our hope for life die."
