Malak Ibrahim Nassar

Malak's father passed away a long time ago, when she was three years old. She is survived by her mother and her 12-year-old brother. She was my friend since the third grade, and we were also neighbors. She was the dearest person to me; I never imagined I would lose her. Her mother was always worried about her. In every war that broke out, she wouldn't let her leave the doorway of the house. We were like sisters, and more; everyone thought we were sisters. If one of us just wanted to go buy a pen, she would tell the other. All of our outings were together. We went to school together, were in the same class, and sat next to each other. She was the dearest person to me. When she was killed, she was killed in her home. I never even got to say goodbye to her or see her. From the day she was killed until today, I cannot comprehend that she is gone. I don't believe it, and I never will. May God have mercy on her.
