Sham Muhammad al-Jaja

This beautiful child was killed along with her father, the journalist Muhammad al-Jaja, on November 6, 2023. The journalist and martyr Muhammad al-Jaja was a friend, a brother, a teacher, a colleague, and a mentor. He used to say: "I have visited 30 countries in Europe and elsewhere, but there is nothing more beautiful than Gaza." Muhammad was a leader in Gaza's civil society and a consultant for various international and local institutions. When we would meet, his daughter Sham would bring us juice, and we would accompany her to buy snacks for school and talk about her intelligence. She looked so much like him; he saw a part of himself in her. Muhammad and his daughter Sham were killed in an Israeli airstrike on their home on November 6, 2023. His wife, his son, and many of his relatives were also killed.
