Remas, Jamal, and Ghazi Talib
Age 12
The storyteller-martyr Ghazi Talib was an actor, an artist-activist, and a Palestinian storyteller. He was a member of the National Scout Committee in Gaza. A friend to children, beloved by the people, he worked in civil society, always for the cause of good.
Before he was killed, he wrote: "If I am among the survivors after this war, I as a storyteller: how will I tell children stories and meaning, when I see bloody stories with my own eyes? Should I tell them about an infant who never saw the light of day, whose entire family are martyrs? Or tell them they bombed a hospital? Or tell them the many stories of the occupation's brutality against my people? I say to them and to you: We, God willing, if we survive this stage, will tell stories of heroism and glory. We will tell the stories of the glorious history, the ancient present, and the radiant future!".
Ghazi was killed on December 9, 2023, during the occupation's invasion, along with his wife, the angel Ayat, and their children: Jamal, 6, and Remas, 12.
