My wife, my soulmate, the love of my heart, my friend and the core of my heart (Laila Mahmoud al-Talla') was martyred, and with her went my daughters, the darlings of my heart, my support, my children and my little birds (Maria and Hala Saadi al-Dabaka). My precious wife and daughters, I will keep praying to God a great deal whenever I long for you, that He might grant me the patience to bear your separation. I find no other refuge. Oh God, help me with this parting, my loves, and join me with you in Paradise. I have missed you so much, beloveds of my heart and soul. You have departed in spirit, but your hearts are still with me. I find no meaning in life without you here. You left me alone in this life and departed without sharing the rest of my journey in this world. I feel great distress when I search for you in everything around me and cannot find you, my beloveds, my soulmates... ...the smile of my heart. I feel a deep sadness every night that I remember you, sitting alone, looking at your pictures everywhere. I find no one else in this life to long for.
