Karim was killed along with his entire family in a massacre committed by the Israeli occupation at dawn on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Occupation aircraft bombed the family home in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip. He was killed alongside his father, Mustafa Ayyash, director of the "Gaza Now" news network; his mother; his brothers, their wives, and their children; and his sister, her husband, and their children.
