A Syrian woman, Aya Dahrouj, married a young man from Gaza and gave birth to her firstborn daughter, Rayhana. Rayhana carried Syrian and Palestinian blood, and their shared pain. She was awaiting the birth of a brother or sister, but she, her mother, and her unborn sibling were all killed together in an Israeli airstrike on October 23.
