Ismail Muhyi al-Din al-Astal

Ismail was his mother and father's only son. He was playing with his maternal cousins at the time of the strike. When they pulled him from under the rubble, his index finger was raised, to show the whole world that our children are grown men who know the meaning of the Shahada [martyrdom]. He was killed along with his grandfather, Abu Ayesh al-Najjar; his grandmother, Umm Ayesh; his maternal aunt, Shaima; and his cousins, Ibrahim and Ayesh Musab al-Astal.
