He was his family's firstborn child, a smart, beautiful, gentle, and innocent angel. He was beloved by everyone and welcomed everywhere he went. The occupation killed him brutally in an area in the city of Rafah where he had been displaced with his family, an area it calls "safe." His father bid him farewell with a faithful, patient heart, accepting of God's will and decree. After his martyrdom, he wrote: "God asked the angels, 'Have you taken the soul of my servant's beloved child?' They said, 'Yes.' He asked, 'Have you taken the fruit of his heart?' They said, 'Yes.' He asked, 'And what did my servant say?' They replied, 'He praised you and gave you thanks.' So God said, 'Build for my servant a house in Paradise and name it the House of Praise and Thanks.'"
