Tala Ahmed Abu Muammar

The first grandchild, a beloved and cherished child, she had not yet reached the age of ten. She was a smart, outstanding girl who had memorized four parts of the Quran. She dreamed of becoming a doctor like her parents, and of seeing her father, who lives in Saudi Arabia and whom she had not seen for months. At the beginning of the war, all she talked about was how she did not want to die and wanted to see her father. But like other children, Tala grew tired of the war and began to wish for martyrdom, saying: "That's it, Mama, I don't want to go to Dad anymore. I want to be martyred and go to Paradise." And Tala went to Paradise, after the occupation killed her along with her grandparents and a number of other family members.
